The Big Draw LA is a public drawing celebration spanning Southern California and linked to Big Draw events worldwide during the month of October. 

Drawing from the Masters: Gathers and Folds
Sunday, October 4 and 18, 3:30–5:30 p.m. 
The Getty Center

Enjoy the tradition of sketching from original artworks at the Getty. Artist Kaitlynn Redell shares techniques for drawing dynamic drapery. Participants are encouraged to bring sketch pads. Sign up begins at 2:30 p.m. at the Information Desk.

Join us for this drop-in drawing event, sketch from a costumed model, and be inspired by dynamic drapery and texture with artists Marissa Magdelena and Kaitlynn Redell. Supplies and guidance provided.

Drawing from Antiquity: Creative/Classical

The Getty Villa

Take part in the centuries-old tradition of sketching from ancient works at the Getty Villa. Put your own spin on classical forms during this creative sketching session inspired by the Villa's Inner Peristyle gardens and architecture. Supplies are provided; all skill levels are welcome. Sign up begins at 10:45 a.m. at the Tour Meeting Place.

Sunday, November 15, 10:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
The Getty Villa

Join artist Elmira Adamian for a daylong watercolor workshop focusing on landscapes in antiquity. Tour the exhibition Greece's Enchanting Landscape: Watercolors by Edward Dodwell and Simone Pomardi, then practice plein-air watercolor techniques in the Outer Peristyle gardens.
Course fee $125 (includes lunch and materials). Complimentary parking.
