Neave Piano Trio

Hailed by critics as ”absolutely stunning” (Golden Valley Music Society), an “up-and-coming ensemble” (WQXR Radio, New York City), praised for its “heart on-sleeve performances” (Classical New Jersey) and nominated by the Boston Phoenix as the “Best of Boston”, the Neave Piano Trio, joined the SDSU School of Music and Dance in Fall 2012 in the prestigious Trio-in-Residence program.

Graduates of the Eastman, Manhattan and Longy Schools of Music and the Chopin Academy in Moscow, the Neave Trio (violinist Anna Williams, cellist Mikhail Veselov and pianist Toni James) have enjoyed international success at recital and festival performances in the United States, South America, UK and Europe, performing in some of the world’s finest concert halls. Recent appearances include recitals in New York’s Carnegie Hall and Weill Recital Hall, Boston’s Jordan Hall and Rochester’s Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre.

All rising young soloists, the Neave Trio has enjoyed international concert and competition success spanning four continents, with recent notable performances in Guatemala, Belgium and Russia, as well as a recital appearance at the British Embassy in Oslo, Norway. Trio members have studied with artists Natalia Gutman, Terry King, Barry Snyder, Victor Rosenbaum, Patinka Kopec, Irina Muresanu and Laura Bossert, among others.

Members of the Neave Trio have been recipients of the Lilian Fuchs Chamber Music Prize, the Gartoff Foundation Prize and Eastman Chamber Music Honors Prize. The trio won several prestigious performing ensemble positions in the Northeast USA, including residencies at Providence College and St. Marks International Chamber Music Institute and Festival. Currently in residence at the LyricaFest and ArtsAhimsa music festivals, the trio has performed extensively as Young Artist Members of Lyrica Chamber Music, an award winning series in the New York Metropolitan area. As one of the finest emerging young chamber ensembles, Neave has worked with distinguished artists including Menahem Pressler, Bonnie Hampton, Rachel Barton Pine, Anne Marie McDermott, Yehudi Wyner, Pinchas Zukerman, Joseph Kalichstein, James Buswell, Donald McInness, Donald Weilerstein, Vivian Weilerstein, Robert Mann, Carol Rodland, Charles Castleman, Seth Knopp, Oleg Krysa and Peter Serkin, as well as members of the Borromeo, Brentano, Ying, Beethoven, American and Emerson Quartets.
