Please join the Trinity Forum as they celebrate the Christmas season in Pasadena with an evening of wine, cheese, and poetry with Dana Gioia. Dana will read a selection of his poems and reflect on the necessity and beauty of poetry. Dana Gioia is an internationally acclaimed poet and former Chairman for the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). He is also a critic, and his work Can Poetry Really Matter?  was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award, and is credited in helping revive the role of poetry in American Culture. Gioia is currently the Judge Widney Professor of Poetryand Public Culture at the University of Southern California.

This Reading Group will be held at the Cheese Store of Pasadena . Each guest will receive a copy of Dana Gioia's Pity the Beautiful or Can Poetry Really Matter?  at the event. Tasia and Jim Filippatos regularly host Trinity Forum Reading Group discussions in the Pasadena area and are delighted to sponsor this gathering on December15th. If you are able to join them on the evening of Sunday, December 15, please register by clicking on the link below.
