LYRA, The Vocal Ensemble of St. Petersburg, Russia
Sacred Music of the Russian Orthodox Church and Russian Folk Songs

LYRA is a community of professional musicians, opera singers, conductors and teachers from St. Petersburg, Russia. Through performance, they introduce the enormous musical heritage of the Russian Orthodox Church, as well as traditions of Russian folk music to those interested in Russian history and culture. Since 1994, they have performed throughout Russia and Western Europe, Scandinavia and the United States. Honors they have received include awards at the 2001 Montreux International Choral Festival in Switzerland and the 2005 Coleraine International Choral Festival in Northern Ireland. Their 2015 US tour of Midwest and West Coast this spring brings an ensemble of 2 women and 3 men presenting over 50 concerts across 10 states from April to June.
