6:00pm - Exhibition reception with both Kathleen Wilson and Linda Curry
In support of the current art exhibition entitled "Art of the Spirit: Origin and Muse" on view at the Biola University Library, nationally recognized artist Kathleen Wilson will be coming to share about her work in an artist talk and panel discussion in the Library Courtyard. The discussion will be followed by a reception to celebrate the exhibition currently on view in the main floor of the Library. Both exhibiting artists are expected to be in attendance for the reception: artist Kathleen Wilson and quilter Linda Curry
Kathleen Atkins Wilson is a nationally recognized African-American artist and illustrator. She received a degree in Fine Arts from Pepperdine, and studied painting and figure drawing under Charles White at Otis College of Art and Design. Her illustrations for the book
The Origin of Life on Earth (currently on view at Biola) received a Coretta Scott King Illustration Award from the American Library Association and earned a Best Children's Book Award from the African Studies Association. Kathleen Wilson lives and works in Los Angeles and continues to exhibit her work in galleries and art fairs all around the nation.
