Biola Alumni and Faculty Exhibition: Befriending Wilderness

painting of Jesus in the wilderness

This project is sponsored by the Creative Arts Collective for Christian Life & Faith at Belmont University and aims at listening well to the 'wilderness' experiences of Christian visual artists and collecting wisdom gained from navigating these seasons of confusion or uncertainty to help others. As a part of the project, we will be exhibiting work in a campus show that engages with these themes. Biola alumni and faculty are invited to submit artwork for this Fall exhibition.

The Befriending Wilderness exhibition invites artworks that engage with the artist's experiences of creative, spiritual, and vocational "wilderness". These artworks can depict or embody (in a personal way) the artist's ideas, feelings, or experiences of 'wilderness.' Each artist may submit one work only for the show. As part of the submission process, you will be asked to complete a brief survey to help us gather stories and foster dialogue around experiences of creative, spiritual, and vocational “wilderness.”

To complete the survey and submit your artwork, visit this form. Submissions due by September 14, 2026.
