The CCCA’s Visionary-in-Residence initiative is a semester or yearlong program designed to bring to Biola’s campus a high-profile Christian thinker, innovator, or practitioner/creative who has made significant contributions to the arts. This person will work with Biola students, staff and faculty across the disciplines toward the end of thinking about and practicing art from a distinctly Christian perspective. The Visionary-in-Residence will have freedom to choose topics of inquiry, program events/lectures, and brainstorm collaborative opportunities during their residency.
The visionary leader is one who inspires, challenges and invigorates through imagination, insight and boldness. Dr. Michael Beckwith says, “A visionary helps awaken and direct the inner strength of the people.” The Visionary-in-Residence program will offer examples from the arts and humanities of individuals who are innovators in their particular disciplines, using their spiritual insights to influence and encourage a new generation of artists and thinking Christians.
