Seasons of Renewal: A Conference with Musician Steve Bell and Poet Malcolm Guite
Seasons of Renewal is a five-day study of the church calendar year will offer an introduction to the “sacral year”, the history of keeping “times and seasons” the spiritual advantages and resources this practice offers. The sessions will draw on material from Malcolm Guite's Sounding the Seasons book, Steve Bell’s Pilgrim Year ebooks, and Steve Bell's “seasonal” albums: Keening for the Dawn and Pilgrimage. You will hear the thoughts behind what went into the songs and poems, talk about how they can be used liturgically and personally and get directed to other resources that are out there for making a pilgrim journey through the year.

Canadian Singer and Songwriter, Signpost Music
Steve Bell is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and storyteller with two Juno Awards (Canada’s “Grammys”) for his music and a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for his vocational commitment and advocacy work. In December 2012, he released his 17th career CD, Keening for the Dawn.
MALCOLM GUITE
Chaplain and teacher, University of Cambridge

Malcolm Guite is the Chaplain of Girton College, Cambridge. He teaches for the Divinity Faculty in Cambridge and lectures widely in England and North America on Theology and Literature. He is the author of What do Christians Believe? Granta (2006), Faith Hope and Poetry (Ashgate 2010, paperback 2012), Sounding the Seasons; Seventy Sonnets for the Christian Year (Canterbury 2012) and The Singing Bowl; Collected Poems (Canterbury 2013).
